Texas is bordered by Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas not neglecting the Gulf of Mexico. Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca and Francisco Vásquez de Coronado, among other spanish mates were the first explorers to visit the area within the 1600s and 1700s, making Ysleta close to El Paso as their settlement in 1682. A french colony was established in 1685 at Matagorda Bay by Robert Cavelier and Sieur de la Salle. Americans was later seen settling along the Brazos River in 1821, a movement that was led by Stephen F. Austin during the time Texas was controlled by Mexico which as of late free from Spain. After a brief war between the American pioneers in Texas and the Mexican government in 1836, the Independent Republic of Texas was announced with Sam Houston as the then president. This war was well known for the battles of San Jacinto and the Alamo. The Mexican war of 1846-1848 was caused due to border dispute when Texas was admitted into the state union on December 29, 1845 as the 28th state.

Texas is known to be blessed with some interesting natural resources. Texas is a noteworthy agricultural state and a giant in the industrial sector. Texas is also known to be the leader followed by Alaska in the production of oil, dairy cattle, sheep, and cotton. Poultry products, dairy products, greenhouse and nursery products, hay, rice, wheat, sugar cane, peanuts, and a variety of fruits and vegetables are products from Texas farms.

Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center; AT&T Stadium formerly called the cowboys stadium, the 85,000 capacity stadium is the home of the Dallas cowboys of the NFL; Aztec Theater, an exotic themed movie palace is designed with sculptures, furnishers, murals and vibrantly-colored columns; Bank of America Plaza, known to be the tallest building in the state having 72 stories and over 900 feet. Other Landmarks are Bishop's Palace (Gresham's Castle), Central Middle School, Congregation B'nai Israel, Congregation Beth Jacob, Dallas City Hall, Dallas County Historical Plaza, Dallas Heritage Village, Dallas Museum of Art, Dealey Plaza, Fair Park, Fort Crockett, Galveston College, Galveston Island Ferry, Galveston Island State Park, Galveston Island Trolley, Galveston Railroad Museum, Galveston Seawall, Grand 1894 Opera House, John F. Kennedy Memorial, Temple Emanuel Synagogue, USS Stewart (DE-238), Wilson Building and lots more.
