In theory, it means that every person living legally in the USA has the same access to success. Of course, this success is only possible through hard work.

Essentially, it means that anyone living in America can achieve their goals, whatever they may be. For some, it’s to be rich or own a business, while for others, it could be social tolerance or having a big family.

The important thing is that it’s based on freedom and social mobility, and that applies to US citizens and Green Card holders alike. After all, the USA as we know it is a nation founded (mostly) by migrants.

Stories Showcasing the American Dream

So, what does the American Dream look like for migrants currently living in America? Here are some examples of success stories.

Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest men, is an immigrant. He is from South Africa and moved to America before becoming a tech billionaire. Granted, he had a better start than many, but he’s still an immigrant success story. The same is true for the founders of Google, Amazon, and Apple, who are all immigrants or the children of immigrants.

In fact, 45% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children. This is the American Dream in a nutshell: freedom for success, supported by the country’s fondness for business.

Step foot in almost any successful restaurant in New York, Chicago, or any other major US city, and the chances are it’ll be run by immigrants. The US has a fondness for foreign food, and this has led to many immigrants running very successful restaurants. While your sights might be higher than this, it’s still a perfect example of the American Dream.

An immigrant from Turkey moved to the USA to live his dream. When he did so, he had nothing, but 10 years later he now runs a yogurt company called Chobani. It’s worth billions, and he gave 10% to the employees, worth 100,000s of dollars for each employee.

Granted, the path to the American Dream won’t be easy for everyone. But it’s not uncommon for immigrants to have a strong desire to work, particularly if they’ve moved to the USA for a better life.

The First Step is a Green Card

The American Dream provides access to jobs, housing, and communities. What you choose to do with these is up to you, and everyone’s version of success is different.

You might choose to set up your own business, receive an education, or work for a migrant-founded company.

Whatever you choose, act today and apply for the upcoming Green Card Program so you and your family can live and work in the United States.

The American Dream – Live, Work or Study in the United States.
